Judge Orders Lindsay Lohan's Early Release from Inpatient Rehab

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox ordered Lindsay Lohan's early release from the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center where she had been undergoing court-ordered alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Lohan recently served 14 days of her 3-month sentence in jail and was taken afterwards to the rehab center where she had been ordered to spend 3 months. Lohan had been sentenced to jail and rehabilitation after repeatedly violating the terms of her DUI probation.

Lindsay Lohan Jailed for DUI Probation Violations

Lindsay Lohan was booked into a Lynwood, California, jail on Tuesday to begin serving a 90-day sentence for violating the terms of her DUI probation. Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said that because the actress is a nonviolent offender, she will be released early to ease overcrowding in California's prisons. The officials said Lohan will serve 13 days of the 90-day sentence.

Two weeks ago, Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lohan to 90 days in jail, to be followed by 90 days in rehab, for failing to complete her court-mandated weekly alcohol-education classes. Lohan was on probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor drug charges and no contest to three driving charges after a 2007 DUI arrest.

Lindsay Lohan Sentenced to Jail for DUI Probation Violations

Superior Court Judge Marsha N. Revel sentenced Lindsay Lohan yesterday to 90 days in jail for repeatedly violating her parole. After she is released from jail, Lohan will also be required by the Beverly Hills judge to spend 90 days in a residential substance-abuse rehabiliation program. Lohan was arrested on two occasions in 2007 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. She will surrender and begin her jail sentence on July 20.

In determining the punishment for Lohan, Judge Revel said she considered Lohan's failure to attend her required weekly alcohol education classes. Lohan's DUI probation was extended for a year last fall to give her more time to complete them, but a class operator testified that she had missed several.

Lohan's defense attorney told the judge that, although her client had not completed her program yet or perfectly, she had changed her behavior. Lohan pleaded for another chance and told the judge that she was taking the court and her program seriously, but the judge was not swayed and believed her apology to be insincere.

Update: Lohan Posts Bails, Says Committed to DUI Probation Success

Lindsay Lohan  has posted the $200,000 bail to stay out of jail after Judge Marsha Revel issued a bench warrant for her arrest yesterday. Judge Revel issued the arrest order after reviewing data gathered by Lohan's alcohol-monitoring bracelet over the weekend. Lohan was ordered to wear the SCRAMx ankle bracelet at a May 24 hearing after violating the terms of her DUI probation.

The bracelet works by measuring any alcohol in the perspiration of a wearer in half hour intervals over a 24-hour period and transmits the results to the offender's parole officer or supervisor. Reportedly, Lohan's bracelet went off sometime late Sunday when the actress was attending the MTV Movie Awards and an after-party.

Lindsay Lohan May Have Violated DUI Probation -- Again

A judge has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Lindsay Lohan -- again. The arrest order came after Beverly Hills Judge Marsha Revel examined data gathered by Lohan's SCRAMx alcohol-monitoring bracelet on Tuesday. At a May 24 hearing, Lohan's ankle was fitted with the device for violating the terms of her DUI probation.

The device works by monitoring levels of alcohol in a wearer's perspiration in half hour intervals and transmitting that data to a parole officer or supervisor. The 24-hour monitoring means an offender will not have a chance to get away with drinking any alcohol. The device will also record any alcohol spilled on the device. It also knows if the device has been tampered with, such as by placing a piece of paper between the ankle bracelet and the skin. The data looks differently for drinking alcohol, spilling alcohol, and tampering with the device. Judge Revel did not say what Lohan is suspected of doing.

Lindsay Lohan Ordered to Wear Alcohol-Monitoring Ankle Bracelet

Last week, Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lindsay Lohan to wear an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet as a new term of her probation for a 2007 DUI charge. The SCRAMx device was affixed to her ankle in the courtroom and will measure any level of alcohol in Lohan's perspiration 24 hours a day. To be compliant with the terms of her parole, Lohan must drink no alcohol, attend all her required alcohol education classes, and submit to weekly drug and/or alcohol testing in the Los Angeles area.

In May of 2007 in the early morning hours, Lohan crashed her Mercedes-Benz on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills. Lohan is still on probation after pleading no contest to charges of DUI, being under the influence of cocaine, and reckless driving. The terms of her plea deal require that Lohan complete 36 months of probation, a 24-hour jail sentence, 18-months of alcohol education classes, and 10 days of community service.
